Symmertrical Families.

The role of parents in UK and India is not that different. Only thing that differs is in the way they are brought. In UK partents give their children more freedom in life. This is not what is followed in India, their parents put restriction on children, such as children should be in the house when its dark outside, especially girls have to come home by 6pm-7pm if she fails to do She gets firing from her parents. Freedom is given to children but not until they strat going to college. In Britain theirs more common type of family system that is Nuclear family ,where husband and wife take share decisions even though again husband is more of importance. In India too this is the latest system but theirs also other system where they call it joint family where brothers and sisters stay together in same house along with their parents and families only thing is sister leaves the house once she gets married. Nowadays its very rare to see this type of family in India. Its very interesting to see the family pattern changing in Britain from dawn of industrial age up to now, theirs hardly any change in pattern in India as mentioned above. It seems to be common that men try to ease their frustration on women.

Hello Dashmesh

Thanks for your comments on Symmetrical Families. It is most interesting to read about the behaviours of families in different cultures.

What do you mean when you say if a girl fails to come home on time she gets FIRING? Something that a lot of western parents do is to GROUND their teenagers. That is, they take away the privilege of going out socially for a set period of time. This could be a weekend, a week, two weeks, etc.

So, in India more males are leaving home before marriage instead of staying home?

What do you mean by the last sentence?

Thankyou Annie for your comment...........Girls get shouting from their parents if they don't come home on time.....and it is true that they get grounded. About the frustration it seems that men always betray women for even on small causes and it is common to see this in India.....and in most cases women's remain mute and go through the torture of men for life time.....but this picture is changed little bit .....as women get educated they stand and fight with men for justice......that is the reason why there's an increase in rate of divorce in India nowadays.
